Operational Improvements at Selected Congested
and High-Crash Intersections

MPO staff studied six intersections: one each in Danvers, Reading, Somerville, and Sudbury and two in Lynn. The intersections to be included in the study were selected using a process involving extensive data screening and numerous interactions with city and town governments. Staff developed recommendations for improving the selected intersections’ operations and the safety of drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians at these locations. Five memoranda, one for each municipality, present the analyses and recommended improvements.
