The Boston Region MPO will host an Open House on Wednesday, July 22, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the State Transportation Building. The Open House is an opportunity for the MPO staff to update the public and receive feedback on work being conducted by the MPO. The Transportation Planning and Programming Committee (TPPC) on June 25 approved a draft federal fiscal year (FFY) 2010 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for public review and comment. The 30-day public comment period will last from Monday, July 6, to Tuesday, August 4. The draft will be available on the website during that period. Please follow this link to view the draft.
The TPPC on July 2 approved a draft amendment to the 2009 element of the FFY 2007-2010 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for public review and comment. The 30-day public comment period is Monday, July 6, to Tuesday, August 4. The draft amendment adds earmarks for several projects, updates funding amounts for some projects, moves some projects from one year to another, and adds two transit projects. The TPPC on July 2 also approved the MPO staff´s recently completed service assessment of MBTA bus routes in the Dudley South Corridor. This study evaluated the potential for instituting several bus service improvement measures in the transportation corridor south of Dudley Station between Mattapan Station and Ashmont Station in Boston. The evaluation produced several recommendations for the MBTA and the City of Boston to consider for improving bus travel. Please follow this link to view the study.
